COBRA CONNECTIONS - Homecoming Edition

Triton PreK-12 Newsletter

Triton Families,

Homecoming events will be taking place from September 30 - October 5. Our goal when designing these experiences is to enhance engagement within the three communities of Claremont, Dodge Center, and West Concord, while at the same time having many activities that would create lifelong memories for our students and parents. We understand that many questions accompany these events. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's respective school office.

Many people worked collaboratively to make this experience possible. A special thank you to the staff members listed below.

Kristy Faber - Student Council Advisor

Craig Schlichting - Triton Superintendent

Corey Black - THS Activities Director

Tricia Johnson - Dean of Students

Shane Van Beek - Elementary Principal

We hope you will join us this week as we celebrate the many great things happening at Triton Public Schools! Together #WeAreTriton

HOMECOMING, September 30 - October 5

Principal's Update

Triton Parents and Families,

Homecoming is a time to celebrate all of the great things happening at Triton. We will continue to be in support of school spirit and helping create memorable experiences. As we head into these activities, we wanted to remind everyone that "because it's homecoming week" will not be a sufficient excuse for inappropriate behavior. We will not tolerate or participate in acts that are unsportsmanlike or destructive. We have so many things to be proud of, we have awesome students, great teachers, and supportive parents. Let's continue working together to ensure all involved have a positive experience.

Thank you for your continued support! I hope homecoming is enjoyable for your children, family, and the Triton community. Together #WeAreTriton

Triton Homecoming Parade, Friday, October 4, 10:00 AM

We are very excited about the Homecoming Parade! last year we had over 30 groups participating from student groups and community businesses from Claremont, Dodge Center, and West Concord. The picture below highlights the parade route.

Please note we have changed the time of the parade this year as we will have a varsity volleyball game during the school day at 1:00 PM.

Middle School Highlights

TMS students are very excited for Homecoming Week. They will be following the same Dress Up Day schedule as the High School (see below). Each TMS House will have a golf cart decorated in their House color, and selected Homeroom students will be walking in the parade on Friday. All other students will be able to watch the parade. If your child plans to participate with another group, or go with you for the parade, please call the office with plenty of advance notice. Friday, Oct 4, will be a busy day and we'll want to make sure students plan accordingly. We also plan to have a few special House competitions to make this week memorable for our students! Go Cobras!

Homecoming Dance Information

Triton's Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 5, in the West gym from 7:30-9:30PM. Pre Sale Admission is $5 for Triton Students, and $7 for Non-Triton guests. All guests must be 9th grade and above, and not older than 20 years old. If you are bringing a Non-Triton guest, a form must be filled out and returned to the High School office by Friday, September 27. These forms are also located in the High School Office.

To avoid long lines at the dance, Student Council will sell tickets in the cafeteria during lunch the week of the 23rd-27th (at the $5/$7 rate). You will need to present the ticket at the dance to get in. They will also take walk-ins the night of the dance. Walk-in pricing will be $10 for all  -- please note if you are bringing a Non-Triton guest, and planning on walking in, you still need that form turned in by the 27th.

Triton Activities Live Streaming

We have received feedback from our community and families that they would like to see live streaming of events continue. We are excited to let you know that we view live streaming as an opportunity to connect our school community and that we also want to see this service continue.

Live-streamed games and activities have changed for this year. We will now be streaming through Hudl Fan and not YouTube. All Triton home events that are streamed can be accessed via the link HERE or by visiting www.triton.k12.mn.us and clicking on the Activities tab.

Thank you to the Triton Booster Club and our sponsors for making streaming a free service for our community and Cobra supporters.

Thank you for tuning in and for supporting our athletes and activity participants.

Digital Tools Used at Triton

Triton Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software is utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We have an inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools posted at https://bit.ly/tpsstudentsoftwaredata and include an outline of the student data elements within each tool. This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.

Please reach out to Technology Coordinator Rebecca Goossens (rgoossens@triton.k12.mn.us) for additional questions regarding specific digital tools used in classrooms.

Safety Concerns

Student safety and well being will continue to be our number one priority. Information can be reported safely and privately.
