Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is growing and learning. The screening includes a developmental assessment, vision and hearing tests, height and weight measurement and an immunization and health history review. The state of Minnesota recommends this at age 3 and requires screening before kindergarten entrance.
The purpose of this free screening is to identify children who may need additional time and assistance to be ready for school. The sooner we get started, the more likely your child will begin school with the necessary skills to succeed.
Our next screening is on Friday, February 7th. Visit our website to sign up. Email mknutson@triton.k12.mn.us with questions or to set up an alternate time.

We are looking forward to many great conversations about our TMS students during conferences. If students attend conferences with a parent, they will earn 5 points for their House. Parents of 6th and 7th grade students may find the Savvas, iReady, and iXL Parent Demonstration helpful. Join Mrs. Lang in her classroom at 5:30 to understand some key pointers about these math programs. Please note that the 6:30-7:30 timeframe is reserved for our selected intervention conferences. Teachers will no longer be available in the gym at that time.
3:30-6:30 PM: Meet with teachers in the South Gym
5:30-5:50 PM: Savvas, iReady, iXL Demonstration for Parents
6:30-7:30 PM: Only for selected scheduled conferences
If you haven't been in our Middle School Library, I encourage you to check it out sometime! Students use our library for many purposes. In addition to checking out a good book to read, our library is used for collaborative group work, a quiet place to take a test, and we even have a classroom in the back of the space.
We currently have many overdue library books! Please encourage your child to return any overdue books they have at home, and if they are missing something, tell them to check out the Lost & Found Table in our library! We will be donating any items not picked up at the end of the week.
Weekly emails will be sent every Wednesday if your child has a missing assignment in Infinite Campus
Homework Club is on Wednesdays. It starts after school and ends at 4 PM. Your child will need to be picked up at that time
The Homework Link will show you what work the teacher has assigned in class during the week
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read this week's Cobra Connections Newsletter. We hope this regular newsletter communication helps Triton families have the information they need to support their children throughout their school experience.
We are at the time of the school year where patterns have emerged and staff, students, and families can step back and assess strengths and areas of needed improvement. When looking at areas of improvement, it is important to note that success in school and life does not happen by accident. The most successful people have developed habits of excellence and implement them over time with great consistency. When student progress seems to be suffering, it is a good time to step back and evaluate the following habits listed below and look for areas of needed improvement.
Attend school as frequently as possible
Arrive to school on time prepared and ready to learn
Complete all learning practice “assignments” to the best of their ability
Share school experiences (successes and struggles) with parents and family
Know that parents and family expect their absolute best behaviorally and academically
Communicate concerns and successes to school staff to help guide future experiences
We hope these practices will help us continue to improve the overall educational experience for all students at Triton. We thank you for your continued engagement, support, and feedback. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns.

On October 23, our 10th-grade students attended the Respect Retreat by Youth Frontiers at Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center.
Triton Public Schools has partnered with Youth Frontiers for several years offering a variety of Retreat experiences. Youth Frontiers' mission is to provide experiences that inspire character, civility, and community. They offer student retreats focused on timeless values like kindness, courage, and respect. Specifically, the Respect Retreat is designed to be a day for students to experience what school would be like if everyone was respected, and to challenge them to respect themselves and others. Our goal is to empower students to respect themselves more, and we engage the bystanders to stand up for the value of respect in their school.
Additional information about the Respect Retreat can be accessed here.
For all students wanting to participate in a winter sport in grades 7-12, the Eligibility Meeting will be held virtually with the presentation being sent through email and posted to Rooms on Monday, November 4.
Individual program meetings will be scheduled at the discretion of the Head Coach.

We have received feedback from our community and families that they would like to see live streaming of events continue. We are excited to let you know that we view live streaming as an opportunity to connect our school community and that we also want to see this service continue.
Live-streamed games and activities have changed for this year. We will now be streaming through Hudl Fan and not YouTube. All Triton home events that are streamed can be accessed via the link HERE or by visiting www.triton.k12.mn.us and clicking on the Activities tab.
Thank you to the Triton Booster Club and our sponsors for making streaming a free service for our community and Cobra supporters.
Thank you for tuning in and for supporting our athletes and activity participants.
